On view in the Hong Kong Palace Museum are 52 timeless masterpieces from the National Gallery, London. It was an incredible experience to see paintings by Europe’s most well-regarded artists, including Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Goya, Turner, Constable, Monet and Van Gogh. Even better was to visit the exhibition with our HKU art history Professor Greg Thomas, a specialist in 19th century French art, to learn about the histories and the meanings behind these paintings.
