Friday Night at HKPM: Looking at Ming & Qing Paintings with Prof. Koon

Prof. Yeewan Koon, current chair of the Department of Art History, HKU and an expert on Qing art, took us on a special guided-tour at Hong Kong Palace Museum, focusing on a selection of Ming & Qing paintings that are on display in two different exhibitions, “Stories Untold: Figure Paintings of the Ming Dynasty from the Palace Museum” (G4) and “Yuan Ming Yuan: Art and Culture of an Imperial Garden-Palace” (G8). While participants enjoyed a wide array of exhibits as they strolled through the two thematic shows, the tour weaved these materials in a unique way and offered us a different story that had never been told.
